The Case for Meditation

So why meditate? What is the importance of it, why should I do it? I get asked those questions a lot and my answer boils down to one thing: do you want to grow and develop?

True growth, true spiritual development does not come from something outside yourself. It is a shift, a movement from Source that begins on the inside and eventually takes your awareness to outside yourself, extending the sight of Source within everyone and in everything.

I refer to Meditation as the gateway to higher learning. It is the door, the entrance to the higher dimensions and faculties that reside deep within your spiritual being. Meditation and the form of meditation that I teach, is a gentle acceptance of Source and or of God within. This allows Source to start working on your issues and needs of the physical life. Healing emotional wounds of the past and the present and maturing your emotional programming and responses to what you are seeing with your physical eyes and “feeling” with an emotional response.

By consenting to meditation, by consenting to wanting to heal and grow, you are taking the very first steps in releasing and putting down the bondage that has kept you from truly experiencing life as it is meant to be.

This is the journey, the process to higher learning of Self and the beginning steps to leaving the false self behind. What is the false self? The false self is who you think you are, who you have been told you are, what you have made yourself to be. The false self makes you feel “good” and takes you away from reaching the inner spaces of Spirit. The false self has a way of saying, “Come here, go out with this person, He or She will make you feel good.” Or better yet “Buy this shiny new object; it will make you feel whole and complete.” Then soon after, the newness of the person and or object fades and you find yourself lacking once again. So now the blame of your unhappiness is put on the external object of gratification. It is that person’s fault I am not feeling whole. “I am disappointed in that person for not making me feel wanted or loved.” All of these emotional responses are from the false self or ego. Its primary job is to lay blame on others, and take your attention away from your center.

When you are tired of how your life is going and tired of being hurt, it is time to go home and go inwards to where true healing and nurturing can take hold. This is the decision to take up a form of meditation practice and come to the conclusion that I am not managing my life the best way I should. Now I am going to surrender and allow.

What does meditation do?
From my personal experience, meditation has literally changed my life. Spending this quiet time with Source has healed me of emotional issues. Taught me who I truly am and extended my sense of Self. What meditation Truly does is take you out of time, and place you into Eternity; where Source is. This is where true forgiveness and healing takes place.
There are also by-products of meditation such as increasing your psychic abilities, out of body experiences, and what I feel is most important: contemplation.

What is contemplation?
Contemplation is the inner awareness of Source at all times. It is a loving, peaceful, ever present relationship with Source. It is a gentle whisper, a hug, a loving kiss from within that allows you to truly experience what life is. It increases your awareness of the present moment and at times, if you allow, fill you with joy and happiness and gratitude.
