Manifesting

Question: Marlana, when you were "manifesting" your soulmate, who turned out to be Forrist, did you ever feel blocked in the process? Did you always go into a meditation each time or did you sometimes see him while you were walking, working etc?

Answer: I think what you would like to know is what techniques have I discovered about manifesting. I don't mediate, at least not in the conventional understanding of meditating. I watch, listen and feel internally many times each day, checking to see what images I'm creating about my future. If I'm worried or dreading something, then I know that I'm making "movies" in my head about what I DON'T want. So, I imagine an X over that picture and change the movie to be about what I DO want to manifest. This process happens quickly with me, and is ongoing. If you feel more comfortable having this process in a meditation format, that would probably work, too.

The added bonus is actually feeling the feelings around having what you want. Imagining how great you will feel with that wonderful person in your life. Imagine how you will feel as you are soaking in that hot tub you've been saving up for this past year.

What I'm learning is that our unconscious mind wants to match whatever we focus on. It's just like when you are driving down the road looking for a fast food place to eat. You can miss the sit-down diners, because they don't match. Once you find a fast food place, it almost jumps up at you, lights up, and you get a feeling of "Ah Ha!" just because it matches.

Now doesn't it make sense that if you are creating a picture or hearing sounds in your mind about what you don't want, that unconsciously, you may be attempting to find the events and people that will match your inner experience so you will get that "Ah Ha!" feeling. It feels good to be right, even if it isn't what we want. Our unconscious mind isn't concerned with whether we will be happy or not with the pictures we are holding. It's only focus is to match.

Another important aspect to manifesting is creating the tension between what is in our current reality and what we want to draw to us.  This tension needs to be resolved and there are only a few ways this can happen:

  • Ignore or deny what is in our current reality.
  • Ignore or deny the importance of our dream
  • Hold on to both, current reality and our dream and allow the Universe/God/Angels to ease the tension by helping our current reality and our dreams become our new current reality.

Now, more to the personal story of how I "manifested" Forrist. <smile> I can't say that I ever felt blocked, I did feel frustrated because I wanted him with me sooner than later. I only saw him, in my imagination, once, and that was unexpected. That was in January of 1999. After that I asked God and the Angels why the timing wasn't happening as I wanted. I heard and felt them say that it was like being at a train station. The train was on its way, and there really wasn't anything to do but wait for the timing. I learned that it was like watching water boil, it seems to take longer when we stand over the pot and wait for the water to boil.

So, I let go of my impatience, which gave permission to the Universe to "do their thing" and I stopped waiting. I went square dancing, quit all the dating stuff I had been doing, by phone, by email, by introduction services and all of that. I quit working at it. I quit waiting, and just let it happen. I received his first email in late October of that same year. We talked by phone, then met in person in mid November. He helped me move from Oregon to be with him in Santa Fe by Christmas of that same year.

In summary, we focus on what we DO want, and then let it go into the arms of God/Creator. We hand it over to God/Source, the Angels or whoever we believe is the conductor of our orchestra. We do all we can do, on our end, then let it go. We make our wishes known in our imagination, then we leave the "How" of it in the hands of God.  All the while, enjoying our current reality as we hold fast to our dream.
