Question: Is it ok to use Tarot Cards, Crystal Balls, Crystals, a Rabbit's Foot, Pendants that ward of negative energy and things like that? Aren't we supposed to be able to be intuitive or psychic enough to live our lives without all of these things?
Marlana: What I'm learning is that it's ok to have these tools. Whatever we need to move us on to the next level. We need not feel ashamed or embarrassed to have these "charms" or tools. That would be like shaming a toddler for enjoying her walker or scolding her for holding on to the wall when she's first learning to walk.
It's all about giving ourselves permission to feel good and to hold positive energy. We can even use other people as a tool or a charm. Sometimes my human side wonders if I'm just creating illusions and false hope for people when I do my work. I used to be deeply concerned that I was somehow hurting people by inadvertently giving them a new way of framing their world.
I have come to understand that if I can give people hope and Light, then I am being of service to them by helping them find within themselves a more loving and hopeful space. Isn't that what holding intent really is? We can somehow make sense of things if we are feeling bad about a "bad situation. We may even say we are "facing reality".
I'm learning that it's all an illusion. If we predict doom and gloom, then we are holding on to negativity. We don't actually know what's coming next, so why not "predict" hope and healing? That is just as powerful, and may even allow more positive energy to flow our way and bring with it what we would like to have happen.
My guess is, that "lucky charms" work because we are more able to hold positive intention which actually brings "luck" to us. Tarot Cards can be used in a negative way or to help us gain insights and support our positive growth. If we believe in something or someone, then that belief helps us think and feel in alignment with that belief. Who cares what tools we use to lean on until we can learn how to change our beliefs without the help of outside "tricks".
The point of all that we do is to find God/Love within us and those around us. Sometimes we find it by noticing a rose or a butterfly and seeing the symbolism of transition and beauty in them. At other times we find relief in lighting a candle or saying a mantra to help us shift into a brighter emotion. I think it's just fine to find ways to make our lives more enjoyable. Who says learning and growing have to be a struggle? I say, relax, have fun and enjoy the journey!
